Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Sæla Sauna. Our aim is to provide a safe, restorative, and enjoyable experience for everyone. By booking or using the sauna, cold plunge, or associated spaces, you confirm that you understand and agree to the following terms.
1. Before You Visit – Quick Reminders
- Bring swimwear (nudity is not permitted).
- Bring two towels (one to sit on, one to dry off with).
- Drink water beforehand and bring a refill in a non-glass bottle.
- Avoid alcohol and large meals before your session.
- Allow time to change within your booking slot.
- Stay at home if you are unwell.
2. Respecting the Space & Each Other
- Keep voices low and create a calm, welcoming atmosphere.
- Phones are not allowed inside the sauna. Photos outside are fine with others’ consent.
- Changing must be completed during your booked time slot.
- All personal belongings remain your responsibility.
3. Children & Young People
- Public/social sauna sessions are strictly 16+.
- Children aged 12+ are welcome only during private group bookings and must:
- Be accompanied inside the sauna by a parent/guardian.
- Follow a strict 1:1 adult-to-child ratio.
- The responsible adult assumes full responsibility for the child’s wellbeing and behaviour.
4. Sauna Use – Good Practice
- Always sit on a towel.
- Sessions are best taken in short rounds of 5–15 minutes (20 minutes maximum).
- Do not touch the stove, heater cage, or stones.
- Only use the designated sauna water. Pour gently and never throw water on the stones.
- Only essential oils provided by Sæla Sauna may be used.
- Glass bottles or containers are not allowed.
5. Cold Plunge Guidance
- Enter the water slowly to allow your body to adjust.
- Be mindful of cold shock, hypothermia, skin reactions and dizziness.
- Exit immediately if you feel unwell or light-headed.
- Never use the plunge pool alone — another guest or staff member must be present.
6. Health Considerations
Do not use the sauna or cold plunge if you:
- Are pregnant.
- Have heart or circulation problems, high/low blood pressure, or related conditions.
- Live with epilepsy, diabetes, or any condition that may cause fainting or seizures.
- Have open wounds, contagious skin issues, or infections.
If in doubt, seek medical advice before booking.
7. Responsibility & Liability
- Participation is entirely voluntary and at your own risk.
- By attending, you acknowledge that heat and cold exposure involve inherent risks.
- Sæla Sauna Ltd cannot accept responsibility for injuries, accidents, or health issues connected with use of the sauna or plunge.
- Guests are expected to monitor their own wellbeing and listen to their bodies.
8. Group Bookings
The person booking is responsible for:
- Making sure all guests are aware of these terms.
- Ensuring that everyone respects the safety guidance and etiquette.
9. Cancellations
- Cancellations or reschedules must be made at least 24 hours before a Private Sauna + Cold Plunge session, and at least 12 hours before an Open Sauna + Cold Plunge session.
- Changes can be made using the link in your confirmation email.
- Bookings cancelled or changed after these times, or missed sessions, are non-refundable.
9. Entry & Right to Refuse
We reserve the right to refuse admission or ask a guest to leave if:
- They are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Their behaviour risks the safety or comfort of others. No refunds will be provided in such cases.
